The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda has officially concluded its investigation into the death of 18-year-old Khaleel Simon, bringing a formal close to a case that had generated significant public speculation and repeated calls for transparency.

According to Antigua Observer, the announcement was made during a press conference on Tuesday by Superintendent Lisbon Michael, head of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). Superintendent Michael confirmed that police work on the matter has been completed.

The conclusion of the investigation comes after months of public scrutiny surrounding the circumstances of Simon's death. Calls from the community and advocates for greater openness had kept the case in the public eye throughout the investigative process.

Also disclosed during the press conference, as reported by Antigua Observer, was confirmation that the Cold Case Unit is now operational. The unit's activation signals a broader commitment by the Royal Police Force to revisiting unresolved matters and pursuing justice in cases that have remained without conclusion.
