A 35-year-old Florida woman has been arrested after allegedly firing multiple shots at the Los Angeles home of international music superstar Rihanna and rapper A$AP Rocky, according to Antigua.news.
The suspect, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz of Orlando, was taken into custody on Sunday after police tracked her vehicle following a 911 report of gunfire at the couple's residence in the Beverly Crest neighbourhood of Los Angeles.
Ortiz allegedly fired several rounds from an AR-15-style rifle toward the property, as reported by NBC News. No injuries were reported during the incident.
Authorities immediately circulated a description of the suspect and her vehicle over police radio. The Los Angeles Times reports that identifying details broadcast to officers included that the suspect had braided hair, was wearing a cream-coloured blouse, and was driving a vehicle with visible dirt along the lower panels.
Officers located the car and followed it to a shopping centre parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where Ortiz was arrested approximately 30 minutes after the initial emergency call, according to radio communications reviewed by the newspaper.
Ortiz is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center with bail set at US$10,225,000, authorities confirmed.
Investigators believe the shooting may have been targeted, though officials have not publicly disclosed a motive. Online posts reportedly linked to Ortiz referenced Rihanna directly, suggesting the singer may have been the intended target.
Authorities also noted that Ortiz has had prior encounters with law enforcement, though details of those incidents have not yet been made public.
Police confirmed that neither Rihanna nor A$AP Rocky was harmed, and the investigation is ongoing.
