Consultant anaesthetist Dr Olubukola Ogumbyi has retired from the medical profession after more than four decades of service, closing a career that has left a significant mark on healthcare in Antigua and Barbuda.

According to Antigua News Room, Dr Ogumbyi began her medical journey at the former Holberton Hospital, where she served as a paediatric house officer. She would go on to establish herself as a leading figure in anaesthesiology in the country.

Her retirement marks the end of an era for the local medical community, which she served with distinction over the course of her 40-year career.
