A 48-year-old Canadian citizen has been arrested and charged with drug trafficking after police seized a large quantity of cannabis at V.C. Bird International Airport earlier this week.

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda charged Roselynee Crisostomo with five offences: possession of 67 pounds of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to transfer, being concerned in the supplying of cannabis, drug trafficking, and importation of cannabis.

The offences occurred on Tuesday, 10 March 2026, during a joint drug interdiction operation at the airport. At approximately 4:30 p.m., officers from the Narcotics Department, the Special Services Unit (SSU), and the K-9 Unit conducted the operation alongside the Customs Enforcement Unit.

Crisostomo had arrived in Antigua aboard Air Canada flight AC1832 from Toronto when she was stopped and searched. Officers discovered 61 vacuum-sealed packages containing cannabis concealed inside her two suitcases. She was taken into custody following the seizure.

The seized cannabis is estimated to be valued at EC$536,000. Crisostomo is expected to appear before the court at a later date.
