The National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) is set to host two significant events next week designed to strengthen community resilience and national disaster preparedness, according to Antigua News Room.
The first of the events is the inaugural Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Exhibition, scheduled for Sunday at the St. Johnston's Village Sports Complex. The exhibition marks a historic first for Antigua and Barbuda's emergency preparedness community.
The second event is the annual Caribe Wave Tsunami Exercise, a region-wide drill that tests the readiness of participating nations to respond effectively to tsunami threats.
Together, the two events represent a concentrated effort by NODS to engage the public and sharpen the nation's emergency response capabilities ahead of the Atlantic hurricane and disaster season.
