The Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, has officially opened a new pharmacy at the Glanvilles Polyclinic, marking a significant step toward decentralising healthcare services across Antigua and Barbuda.
The new facility is designed to bring essential medication services closer to residents in the area, reducing the need for patients to travel to centralised locations to access their prescriptions and pharmaceutical needs.
The move reflects a broader government effort to improve service efficiency and ensure that healthcare resources are more equitably distributed throughout the country. By expanding the MBS pharmacy network to include the Glanvilles Polyclinic, authorities aim to ease the burden on existing facilities while providing more convenient access for communities in the surrounding region.
The Glanvilles Polyclinic pharmacy represents the latest addition to the MBS network as the scheme continues to grow its footprint in support of the national healthcare system.
