Residents of Grays Hill are set to enjoy improved visibility and safety after overgrown vegetation in the area was cleared, following concerns that the bushes posed a security risk by providing potential cover for criminal activity.
According to Antigua News Room, Education Minister Daryll Matthew, who serves as the Member of Parliament for St. John's City South, confirmed that the clearing work was carried out in direct response to concerns raised by residents during recent community engagements.
The overgrown vegetation had been identified by locals as a potential hiding place for criminals, prompting calls for action. Matthew subsequently made a public commitment to address the issue and followed through with the clearance effort.
The intervention reflects growing attention among constituents to the relationship between environmental upkeep and public safety in residential communities across Antigua and Barbuda.
