Residents in eastern Antigua now have improved access to prescription medications following the opening of a new Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS) pharmacy at the Glanvilles Polyclinic. According to Antigua News Room, the facility began operations today, bringing much-needed pharmaceutical services closer to communities in that part of the island.
Health and Wellness Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph highlighted the significance of the new pharmacy, noting that patients in the area will now be able to collect their medications locally, reducing the need to travel to other locations to fill their prescriptions.
The addition of an MBS pharmacy at Glanvilles Polyclinic represents a tangible expansion of the government's healthcare infrastructure in underserved areas of Antigua, making it more convenient for residents who rely on the Medical Benefits Scheme to access the medicines they require.
