The attorney representing Alex Saab, the former Antiguan diplomat and Venezuelan Industry Minister, has flatly denied reports that his client was arrested in Caracas on Wednesday.

According to Antigua News Room, lawyer Luigi Giuliano told Reuters that the arrest reports were false. "It is simply not true that he has been arrested," Giuliano stated, adding that Saab hoped to meet with Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodríguez "for clarification."

The denial came in response to claims published by Colombian media outlet Caracol on Wednesday, which had reported that Saab had been detained in the Venezuelan capital.

Saab, who previously held diplomatic status connected to Antigua and Barbuda, has been a figure of significant international interest. His legal and political situation has drawn attention across multiple jurisdictions in recent years.
