Antigua and Barbuda and Malta have opened discussions on potential cooperation in support of the Commonwealth Youth Forum, according to Antigua News Room, as both nations look ahead to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2026.

Honourable E.P. Chet Greene, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Barbuda Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda, met with Honourable Dr. Ian Borg, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism of the Republic of Malta, on the sidelines of a recent international engagement. The bilateral meeting brought together two Commonwealth member states to explore areas of shared interest ahead of the landmark summit.

As reported by Antigua News Room, the talks centred on cooperation relating to the Commonwealth Youth Forum, a key platform within the broader CHOGM framework that amplifies the voices of young people across member nations.

CHOGM 2026 is expected to draw heads of government and senior officials from across the 56-member Commonwealth, making preparatory diplomatic engagements such as this meeting increasingly significant in the lead-up to the event.
