Casroy Charles, President of the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers (A&BUT), has reaffirmed the union's unwavering commitment to protecting teachers' rights and advancing their welfare as the organisation marks its centenary.
According to Antigua Observer, Charles made the declaration during centenary commemorations, stating that a century of opposition and betrayal has not diminished the organisation's resolve to serve its members.
The milestone marks one hundred years of the A&BUT's existence as a representative body for educators across Antigua and Barbuda. Charles used the occasion to underscore the union's enduring purpose, signalling that its foundational mission remains as relevant today as it was at its founding.
His remarks carried a tone of resilience, acknowledging that the union's history has not been without its challenges, while affirming that those challenges have done nothing to weaken the organisation's dedication to its membership.
