ST. JOHN'S, Antigua — Three healthcare professionals from the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) have completed a Caribbean sub-regional workshop focused on the critical care management of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI), according to Antigua News Room.
Dr. Tessy Fenton Lee, a consultant paediatrician; Gail Ann Fortune, a consultant intensivist; and Germira Browne, ICU unit manager, represented the medical centre at the five-day training, which was held in Barbados.
The workshop brought together healthcare professionals from across the sub-region to strengthen capacity in managing severe respiratory illness at the critical care level — an area of heightened importance following the challenges posed by recent global health emergencies.
