The Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers (A&BUT) has unveiled a comprehensive series of activities to mark its 100th anniversary, with events planned throughout the year and set to culminate in a landmark gala in December.
According to Antigua Observer, the centenary celebrations will honour individuals who have contributed to the union across its century of existence, recognising the legacy of those who have shaped organised teaching in Antigua and Barbuda.
The December gala is expected to serve as the centrepiece of the commemorations, bringing together current and former members of the union as well as other stakeholders to reflect on the A&BUT's role in the nation's educational landscape over the past 100 years.
The union's decision to spread activities across the full calendar year signals the significance it places on the milestone, ensuring that the centenary receives sustained attention from the education community and the broader public.
