The Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority (ABAA) is calling on all road users to exercise caution as the Airfield Upgrade Project at V.C. Bird International Airport advances into another critical stage of construction.
According to Antigua News Room, Phase 3 of the upgrade project has officially commenced, prompting the ABAA to issue an advisory urging drivers to remain vigilant while traveling on the Burma Road, the Sir George Walter Highway, and surrounding areas affected by the ongoing works.
The authority's advisory reflects the increased activity and potential disruptions that typically accompany large-scale infrastructure projects of this nature. Motorists passing through the affected corridors are being asked to take extra care as construction crews carry out works related to the airfield improvements.
The Airfield Upgrade Project represents a significant investment in the modernisation of V.C. Bird International Airport, one of the Caribbean's key aviation hubs and a vital gateway for tourism and commerce in Antigua and Barbuda.
