The Antigua and Barbuda Workers' Union (ABWU) is marking International Women's Day by underscoring the critical role women play in shaping the future of the trade union movement. According to Antigua News Room, Second Vice-President Monique James-Roberts says women's leadership continues to produce stronger, more balanced results for workers across the sector.
James-Roberts, speaking as the world observed International Women's Day on March 8, emphasised that placing women at the decision-making table leads to more inclusive outcomes — outcomes that benefit the broader workforce.
Her remarks reflect a growing recognition within the local labour movement that diverse leadership is not merely a symbolic achievement, but a practical driver of progress for workers in Antigua and Barbuda.
