His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams, Governor-General of Antigua and Barbuda, officially declared open the Centenary Celebrations of the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers (A&BUT) on Friday morning during a special launch ceremony.
According to Antigua News Room, the event was held at the Antigua and Barbuda College of Advanced Studies, Muriel O'Mard Campus, and marked the beginning of a year of centenary commemorations for the teachers' union.
The ceremony signalled the formal start of what is expected to be a landmark year for the A&BUT, one of the country's most established professional organisations, as it marks one hundred years since its founding.
