Equipment for Antigua and Barbuda's long-anticipated island-wide closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance system is en route to the island, with installation expected to commence within weeks, according to Antigua Observer.
Director General of Communications in the Prime Minister's Office, Maurice Merchant, confirmed that Cabinet was informed at its most recent meeting that the necessary equipment has already been procured and is currently in transit to Antigua.
The development marks a significant step forward for a project that has been in the pipeline for some time, as the government moves to establish a comprehensive surveillance network across the island.
