Antigua and Barbuda has established a new direct air link to the Dominican Republic following the arrival of Sunrise Airways' inaugural flight from Santo Domingo at V.C. Bird International Airport on Tuesday, March 3rd.

According to Antigua Observer, officials have welcomed the development, noting that the new route will serve the island's estimated 14,000 Dominican Republic nationals while also strengthening broader regional connectivity.

The launch of the route marks a significant addition to Antigua and Barbuda's aviation network, providing a direct travel option between the two Caribbean nations where none previously existed. As reported by Antigua Observer, the inaugural flight's arrival was met with fanfare from local officials who see the connection as beneficial both socially and economically.
