Emergency remedial work has begun at the Antigua Broadcasting Service (ABS) following a mass staff withdrawal earlier this week over hazardous working conditions, according to Antigua Observer.

Personnel from the Public Works Department commenced emergency surface repairs on Monday night. The current phase of work focuses on addressing structural integrity and internal sanitation issues within the facility.

The repairs were triggered after ABS staff withdrew their services in protest over conditions they deemed unsafe, forcing the state broadcaster to confront longstanding infrastructure concerns at its premises.

As reported by Antigua Observer, the emergency intervention marks the beginning of a broader remediation effort, with workers from the Public Works Department mobilised to carry out the initial phase of improvements to the building.
