The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus (UWI FIC) is set to make history by representing Antigua and Barbuda at the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Latin America Championship in Chile, scheduled for March 3–8, 2026.
According to Antigua Observer, this will mark the first-ever in-person appearance from the nation at this level of the world's premier global programming competition — a significant milestone for both the institution and the country.
The ICPC Latin America Championship is one of the most prestigious collegiate programming competitions in the world, drawing top university teams from across the region to compete in complex algorithmic problem-solving challenges. Qualifying for and competing at this level places UWI FIC among an elite group of academic institutions on the international stage.
