The University of the West Indies (UWI) Five Islands Campus has made its historic debut at the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Latin America Championship, marking a significant milestone for higher education in Antigua and Barbuda.

According to Antigua.news, the campus's participation in the prestigious regional competition represents a first for the institution, signalling its growing academic presence on the international stage.

The ICPC Latin America Championship is one of the most competitive collegiate programming contests in the region, drawing university teams from across Latin America and the Caribbean. The inclusion of UWI Five Islands Campus places Antigua and Barbuda among institutions competing at this level for the first time.

The achievement underscores the campus's expanding focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and reflects the development of competitive academic programming since the Five Islands Campus was established as a standalone UWI institution.
