A drug interdiction at VC Bird International Airport on Sunday resulted in the arrest and remand of a 38-year-old Jamaican national, after officers uncovered nearly 60 pounds of cannabis concealed within two suitcases.
According to Antigua Observer, the operation took place on March 1st and led to the seizure of drugs carrying an estimated street value of EC $360,000. The suspect has since been charged with possession of cannabis and remanded to His Majesty's Prison.
