Antigua and Barbuda's historic Old Catholic School and Church are set to be transformed into a permanent creative hub for the nation's arts community, following an announcement made at the official launch of the 2026 Commonwealth Forum.

According to Antigua Observer, National Lead for the People's Forum Samantha Marshall confirmed the plans on Tuesday, stating that the two iconic structures will be repurposed into a permanent home for Antiguan and Barbudan creativity. The compound, which sits at the intersection of Church Street and Independence Avenue, will be earmarked specifically for this cultural purpose ahead of the 2026 forum.

The announcement signals a significant step in the government's broader preparations for the Commonwealth Forum, with heritage buildings being given new life as spaces dedicated to local artistic and cultural expression.

The location, already steeped in historical significance, is expected to serve as a lasting legacy of the 2026 event — providing the creative community of Antigua and Barbuda with a dedicated, centrally located facility long after the forum concludes.
