The second round of consultations for the 2026 Workplace Harassment Bill took place on Wednesday, coinciding with the observance of Social Workers Month in March — a pairing that the Director of the Directorate of Gender Affairs described as particularly fitting.

According to Antigua Observer, Jamie Saunders, Director of the Directorate of Gender Affairs, said the timing of the consultations could not be more appropriate, given that March is dedicated to recognising the contributions of social workers across the country.

This year's Social Workers Month carries the theme 'Social Workers: Uplift, Defend, Transform.' Saunders noted that the alignment of the bill's consultation process with the month's observance underscored the shared values between the legislative effort and the social work profession.

The Workplace Harassment Bill, slated for 2026, is currently in its consultation phase, with stakeholders being engaged as part of the process of shaping the legislation ahead of its introduction.
