Prime Minister Gaston Browne has advised citizens of Antigua and Barbuda to hold off on applying for United States visas unless their need is pressing, citing a new and more restrictive visa issuance practice now in effect.
According to Antigua Observer, Browne issued the caution in direct terms. "And until such time, we will suggest that our people refrain from applying unless it's absolutely urgent," the Prime Minister said.
The advisory comes as the United States implements tightened visa issuance procedures that affect Antigua and Barbuda nationals. Browne's appeal signals concern that applications submitted under the new framework may face greater scrutiny or a lower likelihood of approval.
