A young Antiguan leader has earned international recognition after being selected from nearly 5,000 applicants worldwide for a prestigious global climate education initiative.
According to Antigua Observer, Kelisha Pigott, a youth leader with local organisation Good Humans 268 Inc., has been chosen as a project leader under the UNESCO x Nestlé Youth Impact Global Youth Grant Scheme. The selection marks a significant international milestone for both Pigott and the Antiguan-based organisation.
The grant will support the development of an Online Waste Management Classroom, designed to provide accessible environmental education to young people. Good Humans 268 Inc. is celebrating the achievement as a major step forward in its mission to engage youth in sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Pigott's selection from a pool of nearly 5,000 global applicants underscores the growing international profile of Antigua and Barbuda's youth-led environmental movement. The UNESCO x Nestlé Youth Impact Global Youth Grant Scheme is a collaborative initiative aimed at empowering young leaders to drive meaningful climate and environmental education projects in their communities.
