Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez has intervened in the United Taxi Company’s internal dispute, aiming to resolve the impasse between members and the executive.
The conflict stemmed from taxi operators at V.C. Bird International Airport feeling obstructed by the former executive’s resistance to acknowledging the new leadership.
Fernandez met with the operators and plans to address the issue further in an upcoming Cabinet meeting.
Ian Joseph, the reinstated President of the United Taxi Company, is hopeful for a resolution.
Fernandez stressed the importance of settling the matter swiftly, especially before the SIDS4 event, recognizing the vital role of taxi operators in the tourism sector.
