In a recent court proceeding, Anthony George faced charges for the theft of a diamond ring valued at US$13,669 from Diamonds International. On September 11, George, under the guise of a customer interested in purchasing an engagement ring, managed to surreptitiously take a white-gold Crown of Light ring while it was being presented by a sales representative.
The theft came to light during a routine inventory check at the store, prompting the management to review the establishment’s security footage. This investigation led to the identification of George as the perpetrator.
Subsequent to this discovery, a legally sanctioned search of George’s residence was conducted. The search yielded the stolen ring, which was found in a jewelry box within his vehicle.
Upon his admission of guilt in court, George was presented with the choice of paying a US$3,000 fine or serving a two-month imprisonment sentence. Additionally, it was decreed that the stolen ring would be returned to its rightful owner.
