Parliament Breaks Until Monday to Allow Adequate Bill Review Time

Th House of Representatives has postponed its session until Monday at 9:30AM after a motion by Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, The Honorable Steadroy “Cutie” Benjamin.

The adjournment is intended to give all parties ample opportunity to ready themselves for substantive discussions on the bills lined up for debate.

Attorney General Benjamin addressed concerns about preparation time, noting that the bills were distributed the previous Saturday. “These bills have been accessible since last Saturday,” he remarked, rejecting suggestions of inadequate review time and underscoring that the pause allows for even deeper engagement.

The motion received a second and, with full agreement from those in attendance, the House adjourned. Legislative debates will pick back up on Monday morning.
