Antigua and Barbuda to Host 43rd Caribbean Travel Marketplace

The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) has announced that the 43rd Caribbean Travel Marketplace (CTM) will be held in Antigua and Barbuda from May 18-22, 2025.

This prestigious event, which will attract significant industry players from around the globe, underscores Antigua and Barbuda’s rising prominence in the Caribbean tourism sector.

A Boost for Antigua and Barbuda – Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, highlighted the nation’s recent tourism surge, noting a 16% increase in stay over arrivals surpassing pre-2019 figures. “This event will not only showcase our vibrant destination but also cement our status as a leading MICE destination, expecting up to 2,000 attendees,” he stated.

James emphasized Antigua and Barbuda’s strategic position as a hub in the Eastern Caribbean, accessible by major airlines from key markets across The Americas, Europe, and the Caribbean, making it an ideal venue for international gatherings.

Craig Marshall, Chairman of the Antigua and Barbuda Hotels & Tourism Association, expressed enthusiasm about the economic impacts. “Hosting CTM will spotlight our unique offerings, stimulate economic activity, and foster new business relationships,” he said, anticipating enhanced visibility and investment in local tourism.

The 2025 Marketplace will feature:

  • Responsible Tourism Day: Focusing on sustainable practices and community involvement.
  • Caribbean Travel Forum: A platform for dialogue between public and private sectors, addressing regional tourism challenges and celebrating achievements.
  • Caribbean MICE Exchange/Technology and AI Focus: Facilitating business-to-business connections. Focused on leveraging technology, digital marketing, and Artificial Intelligence to boost direct online bookings.

The event’s primary venue will be the American University of Antigua (AUA), known for its modern facilities, having recently hosted a significant UN conference.
