Richard Lewis, a notable contender in the United Progressive Party (UPP) leadership race, has extended his congratulations to Jamale Pringle on securing victory as the Political Leader of the UPP at the party’s convention.
In a statement released after Pringle’s triumph was announced, Lewis conveyed his warm regards, stating, “I congratulate Bro. Jamale Pringle on being elected the Political Leader of the United Progressive Party at our convention.”
Despite his own bid for leadership, Lewis expressed a commitment to unity within the party, remarking, “I extend my full support to the newly elected UPP Executive, my Parliamentary colleagues, our Caretakers, and the wider membership as we strive to return to Government successfully at the next elections.”
The statement concluded with Lewis invoking blessings for both the UPP and Antigua & Barbuda, saying, “May God bless the United Progressive Party. May God bless Antigua & Barbuda.”
