Antigua Cruise Port to Open New Terminal in May for Enhanced Home-Porting Experience

Antigua Cruise Port has commenced the construction of a new terminal at St. Harbour, which is set to begin handling cruise passengers in May.

Operations Manager, Rawle Reynolds, highlighted the significance of the terminal, particularly in the context of the growing emphasis on home-porting in cruise tourism.

Situated adjacent to the 5th Berth pier on Newgate Street, though not directly on the pier, the terminal will facilitate easy access for passenger processing.

Designed to resemble an airport terminal, it will cater to passengers arriving or departing on cruise ships, such as the Arvia from P&O Cruises. Mr. Reynolds stated that the terminal is capable of accommodating thousands of passengers during visits, with border control officers managing the immigration and customs processes. In the past two seasons, these activities were conducted in a large tent, but the need for a permanent structure has now become evident.
